President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Ogun state for the commemoration of the state’s 40th anniversary.
He is currently in the state capital, Abeokuta attending the festivities to mark the occasion.
On arrival, President Buhari is expected to visit the paramount ruler of ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
Among the projects to be commissioned include bridges, roads, model schools in Ijebu, Sagamu and Abeokuta, the state capital.
Earlier, a special Executive Council Meeting was held in Abeokuta, with former military administrators in attendance.
Those that attended the meeting included General Oladipupo Diya, Lt. Col. Seidu Balogun and Navy Commodore Kayode Olofinmoyin.
Others were Lt. Col. Daniel Akintonde, Navy Capt. Oladeinde Joseph, Group Capt. Sam Ewang and Brigadier Gen. Oladayo Popoola.
The Minister for Finance, Kemi Adeosun and senators from the 3 senatorial districts in Ogun state, were also in attendance.
Ogun state was among the seven states created in 1976 by the Murtala Mohammed led administration.
