The Federal Government has approved the appointment of new vice chancellors for the National Open University of Nigeria and twelve Federal Universities.
They are: Federal University,Oye Ekiti, Prof.Kayode Soremekun, Federal University Dutse,Jigawa State, Prof Fatima Batoul Mukhta; Professor Auwal Yadudu for Federal University Birnin Kebbi and Professor Haruna Abdul Kaita for Federal University Dutsinma,Katsina State.
Others include: Federal University,Gashua,Yobe State to be led by Prof Abdrew Haruna; Federal University Lafia,Nasarawa State will have Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman; Federal University Gusau,Zamfara State has Prof Magaji Garba while Federal University Lokoja has Prof Angela Freeman Miri.
More appointments include Federal University Kashere, Gombe State for Prof Alhassan Muhammad Gani; Federal University Ndifu-Alike,Ebonyi State has Prof Chinedum Nwajiuba; Federal University Otuoke,Bayelsa State will be headed by Prof Seth Accra Jaja and Federal University Wukari,Taraba State will have Prof Muhammad Kundir.
Some of the affected Vice Chancellors whose tenure of five years ended this February are Professor Abdulmumini Rafindadi, Lokoja (Kogi); Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe, Ndufu-Alike (Ebonyi); Prof. Isaac Asuzu, Oye-Ekiti (Ekiti); Prof. Geoffrey Okogbaa, Wukari, (Taraba); Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, Birnin Kebbi, (Kebbi); Prof. Ben Chuks Okeke; Prof. Shehu Abdulrahman, Gashua and Prof. Vincent Tenebe (NOUN).
Others are Prof. Mobolaji E. Aluko, Otuoke, (Bayelsa); Prof. Jibril Amin, Dutse (Jigawa); Prof. James Ayatse, Dutsin-Ma, (Katisina); Prof. Mohammed Farouk, Kashere, (Gombe) and Prof. Ekanem Braide, Lafia (Nasarawa).
