ABS FC unveils new players for NPFL season

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC (ABS-FC), Ilorin, on Tuesday unveiled 15 new players ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League new season.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, the Director of Football of the Club, Alloy Chuwkuemeka, said the players were carefully recruited with the target of continental ticket.

He promised that the club would focus on Federation Club as a platform to launching itself on the continent.

The director maintained that the club would do all it could to sustain its presence in the (NPFL).

Chukwuemeka assured the people of Kwara of the commitment of the players and technical crew to do the state proud in the professional league.

The State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Bolakale Ayo, commended the ABS-FC Ilorin for its doggedness in returning to the (NPFL).

The commissioner, who promised continuous support to the club, however charged Kwara United Football Club to work hard in getting promotion to the elite league at the end of the forthcoming Nigeria National League.

Speaking with Sportswriters, the Team’s Coach, Henry Makinwa, said the new players are bunch of talents with capacity and ability to stand the pressure of the football.

Makinwa solicited the support and prayers of all stakeholders to make the club excel in the new league session.

Also speaking, the Captain of the Club, Abdullahi Boje, expressed confidence in the ability of the new players, having played together during the pre-season matches in Lokoja few days ago and assured that the players would work hard as a team for the success of the club.

Some of the new players are Adewale Adeyinka from Kwara Football Academy (KFA); Feriyaro Abdullahi, Niger Tornadoes, Wasiu Alalade, First Bank; Metu Chingozirim, Gateway United; Kehinde Idowu, Kwara United; Anthony Ebuka, Cofine FC, and Bassey Effiong, Niger Tornadoes,

Others are Stone Evbuomawan, (COD) United; Chindo Abubakar, Kogi United; Ernest Governor, Kogi United; Ikpi Austine, (MFM FC), as well as Kehinde Idowu and Adeshina Gata from Kwara United.

The newly promoted side also acquired the services of Eugene Ossy Martins from FC Ifeayi Ubah and Omolayo Ibrahim from Niger Tornadoes.

ABS-FC will begin its campaign in (NPFL) on Sunday in Ilorin with the first match against Akwa United Football Club.
