Acting President Osinbajo leaves Abuja for AU Summit

Nigeria’s Acting President Yemi Osinbajo

Nigeria’s Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo left Abuja Monday morning to represent Nigeria at the 29th Ordinary Session of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He will join other heads of state and government from all over the continent and other invited global and continental leaders attending the summit.

The session, with the theme “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investments in the Youth,” will also discuss the report on the Institutional Reform of the AU, peace & security issues, and the reform of the United Nations Security Council among other topics on the summit agenda.

A statement released by Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the President, Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande, on Monday said Prof. Osinbajo would be back later in the day.
