Aisha Buhari distributes food items ahead of Ramadan

Ahead of the 2017 annual Muslim fasting, the wife  of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari, has distributed food items to some women groups in Adamawa State.

Distributing the items worth millions of naira in Yola, Mrs Buhari said the food items were distributed, among women groups to help them observe the coming Holy Month of Ramadan with some ease.

She said it was important for her to remember Adamawa women because they were very supportive to her and her husband during the 2015 general election.

According to her “today’s events is a symbolic gesture and a token of my appreciation for the support you have been giving us, it is meant to confirm that I have not forgotten you and will not forget you”, she stated.

 Mrs. Buhari said she was grateful for the constant prayers for improved health of her husband, stressing that the support of Adamawa women had been with them all along.

The wife of the president also charged the officials in charge of the distribution to share the food items equitably among the beneficiaries and ensure that everyone got.

The wife of the Adamawa State Governor, Hajia Maryam Umar Jibrilla, said the gesture of the first lady was consistent with the policy drive of the present administration, both at the federal and state levels, in putting smile on the faces of the people.

She called upon the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by fully supporting government policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.

Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindow, in his remark, also promised to support women and also make sure that all women related programs succeeded.

Governor Bindow was represented by the Commissioner of Education, Professor Keletepwa Farauta.
