The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has urged Nigerians to get closer to God as they mark the 2017 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The call was contained in her Sallah message to citizens of the country.

“On this occasion of Eid el Fitr celebration, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, I felicitate with Nigerians and the Muslim Ummah over this opportunity to get closer to Allah,” she said.

Mrs. Buhari, who used the opportunity to once again thank citizens of the country for praying for her husband, also urged them to imbibe the lessons of the holy month of Ramadan, which include love, and show of compassion.

“I also thank Nigerians for all their prayers for our dear country and the President, and call on all to imbibe the spirit of love, compassion and unity as basic lessons of Ramadan,” Mrs Buhari stated.

She also appealed to all to show a true sense of patriotism for national cohesion, to ensure that Nigeria attains the greatness for which it was destined.
