The Governor of Oyo State in South West Nigeria, Mr Abiola Ajimobi, has called on Nigerians to join President Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against corruption in the country, adding that the president cannot do it alone.

He stated this while speaking with State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

President Buhari’s stand is that if Nigerians do not kill corruption, corruption will kill the country and this is why the governor is saying that all hands must be on deck to fight the evil act.

Right now, many Nigerians are languishing in jails while many more are being tried for embezzling public funds.

“The thought of the President’s fight against is trhe beginning of wisdom. So everybody is careful. It is working all of us must change our behavior all of us must jointly support”, Governor Ajimobi says.

Before now, keen observers of Nigeria have always said that the government lacks the will power to fight corruption. But the governor thinks otherwise: “I commend the president for his commitment for his heroic stand against corruption. We should all support him”.

President Muhammadu Buhari actually made corruption an agenda while he was campaigning to be president, promising that if voted into power, he would fight against corruption in Nigeria greatly.
