The law will take its course on leaders who had illegally acquired land in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The Minister of the FCT,  Muhammed Bello stated this when speaking to journalists at the All Progressives Congress National Secretariat, Abuja.
Two weeks ago, the Senate Committee on the FCT revealed that plots of land designated as green areas in Maitama, a highbrow area of the FCT, had been appropriated.
Buildings are already being erected on these plots.
Bello said his administration would follow the FCT Master Plan and bring to justice whoever has been in violation of the plan.
The FCT Minister also expressed satisfaction with the compliance of public officers in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, in declaring their assets.
In January, the FCT Minister directed all staff of the FCTA, including agencies and departments to declare their assets not later than March 31, this year.
 APC meeting

His comments followed a meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun after he received the FCT Minister who paid him a courtesy visit at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

Oyegun commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the quality of people he had appointed to drive the Change Agenda of the Federal Government.

The National Chairman said that, considering the pedigree of people the president appointed as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, the nation’s city would no doubt move to enviable heights.

Chief Oyegun said that “the economy of the country was plunged into a sorry state by the previous governments, in addition to the down turn of oil price, which has remained the nation’s major source of revenue thereby making things very difficult; stressing that if previous governments had diversified the country’s economy all these years, the situation would have been better today.

Chief Oyegun assured the FCT Minister that the All Progressives Congress, APC, would work closely with him to take Abuja to the next level.

The National Chairman commended the FCT Minister for the visit, saying it was quite energizing to the party to rub minds with all stakeholders.

Speaking on the forthcoming Area Councils’ election in FCT, the National Chairman promised to support the FCT Chapter of the Party to win the elections.

Musa Bello promised to work closely with the party in his efforts to deliver the desired Change Agenda of the Federal Government.

“We are also here to pay homage as a loyal Party men and to tap from the wisdom of its leadership which transcend several decades”, he added.
