The Hajj Board in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCT, has urged intending Pilgrims for this year’s exercise in Saudi Arabia to complete their balance between now and Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
The Board’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Aliyu said that the deadline was sequel to the release of the approved hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON.
The fare for this year’s pilgrimage is N1,538, 218.62 kobo.
The board also assured the pilgrims from the FCT, that they would get a flat Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) of $800.00 across the board as fixed by NAHCON.
In a statement, the board explained that the payment became necessary to enable it meets up with the deadline for the balance of payment for this year’s hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Submission of forms before deadline
It called on intending pilgrims who are yet to submit their completed application forms and e-passports to do so before the deadline or have themselves to blame.
According to the statement, “the warning became necessary as the board will soon commence the process of acquiring visa from the Saudi Arabian embassy in Abuja.’’
The Board said it has made necessary arrangement towards a successful hajj operation and has also acquired befitting accommodation in Makkah, to enable the pilgrims perform their five daily prayers in holy Haram with less stress.
The statement enjoined residents of the FCT who have the intention of performing hajj through the board to get registered with its officials across the six area council secretariats of the territory via a bank draft of the hajj fare package.
