APC spokespersons urged to address issues with caution

The National Publicity Secretary of APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has urged state spokespersons to address issues with caution.

Mallam Abdullahi stated this when speaking to journalists at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.

He stressed that the language of people speaking on behalf of APC must be responsible and reflect the position of the party as a ruling party.

“They are ways that we have responded to issues in the past that is necessarily not the right way that the ruling party should speak.

“One of the things we will do this year is to bring together all the spokespersons on the party from across the country to brainstorm on the need to change our language of conversation in order to reflect our profile as ruling party”

The APC Publicity Secretary also noted that Nigerians will see more unity of purpose in the party in its efforts to deliver on the promises it made to Nigerians.

“Last year was particularly difficult because it was the first full budget that the APC government will be implementing and it came with attendant recession to the economy which brought hardship to the people.

The 2017 budget, the president called a budget of recovery, we have looked at it and we have optimism that 2017 will be a much better year.

“What we experienced in 2016 was a necessary fallout of the adjustment that needed to happen and still needs to happen but the APC government is very conscious of the difficulties that people are experiencing,” he said.
