A non-governmental organization known as the Buhari Friends Organization Network has advocated the need for Nigerian government and the indigenes of the Niger Delta, the oil rich region to work together to protect oil facilities in the region.
The national coordinator of the organization Mr. Saint Athanasius made the call in Abuja, at the organization’s fourth prayer session for President Muhammadu Buhari and the nation.
He said there was the need for the people in the community to support the efforts of the government to put an end to the sabotage of the nation’s common assets.
” If the indigenes in those community are able to show or identify those militants and discourage them from carrying out those unpleasant acts of destroying the nation’s assets, then all this will be over but of course we encourage that the government should engage with the militants as a way of finding solution to this problem.”
Mr. Athanasius, however, reiterated the need for Nigerians to pray for the quick recovery of President Buhari and for the progress of Nigeria as a nation.
