China woos more Nigerian businesses to Canton Fair

As the second largest economy in the world, China has over the years strived to attract foreign businesses and  investors to the massive commercial opportunities within their ever-expanding market.

It is in this spirit that the deputy secretary-general of the China Import and Export Fair, Mr Xu Bing advised more Nigerian companies, businessmen and women to always avail themselves of the opportunities in the Chinese Canton Fair.

Xu told a Delegation of visiting Nigerian Journalists on the sidelines of the ongoing 121st session of the Canton Fair in Ghuanzghou, that there was currently a growing number of Nigerian buyers at the fair.

The deputy secretary-general urged Nigerians who could not attend this year’s April Canton Fair to prepare for the next session of the fair, scheduled to hold in October this year at the China Foreign Trade Centre, Ghuanzghou, China.

“China has witnessed the uprising of various trade promotion platforms including the e-commerce platform. However, the Canton Fair remains China’s largest platform for trade promotion. We want more Nigerian companies and Nigerian businessmen and women to come and exhibit their products at the Canton Fair, to better balance trade between China and Nigeria. We want Nigerians to know that the Chinese Canton Fair has a lot of products to offer them and the rest of the world”.

Xu expressed optimism that the participation of more Nigerians in the fair, would expose them to “hundreds of Chinese products’’ to choose from. The deputy secretary-general also spoke of his government’s plan to further develop and expand the Canton Fair to become an open world economy.
