The family of late Senator Isiaka Adeleke has asked the public to discountenance varying media reports and rumours in the social media on their son’s death.
Speaking in Ede, Osun State, the family spokesperson and brother of the deceased Dr Deji Adeleke said no reason could be given on the cause of Isiaka Adeleke’s death until the result of the autopsy was ready in two weeks.
“People should ignore the rumour making the rounds that our son died of an ailment or overdose of painkillers. All speculations are mere rumours since the autopsy report, according to pathologists, will take between one and two weeks before it’s out.”
He said neither the family nor doctors who carried out an autopsy on Adeleke know what caused the death of the two term senator.
“With speculations on the rise as to the cause of Senator Isiaka Adeleke’s death, it is important to inform the public that the family still awaits the result of the autopsy to know the real circumstances behind his death.
While we appreciate the support of the public, we want to seek their understanding to leave us alone to mourn late Senator Isiaka Adeleke in peace. We also want to appeal to supporters of the late Senator to be calm and be peaceful in their conduct, as that is the hallmark of Isiaka Adeleke’s political career,” Deji Adeleke said.
The spokesperson pointed out that the late Senator was a hero in the household and within his community.
“The pain of his death will take a very long time before it can be healed in our heart. However, his death is a painful one and family is still dreaming whether he is alive or not.”
Dr Deji Adeleke, on behalf of the family, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari; the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki; Governors Ibikunle Amosun, Ayodele Fayose, Rotimi Akeredolu; former Osun governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola; state citizens and other Nigerians for their sympathy.
