Nigerian Department Of State Services, DSS, in its continuous fight to ward of criminality and corruption, has arrested the Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas, Mr Ifeanyi Ubah for hoarding and illegal sale of Petroleum products.
In a statement from the Service signed by Tony Opuiyo, it was said that “the arrest was sequel to Ubah’s engagement in acts of economic Sabotage and illegal sale of Petroleum products stored in his tank farm by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation. So far, it has been established that the products stolen amount to over eleven billion naira (N11bn).”
Mr. Ubah has also been accused of instigating Petroleum Tanker Drivers to go on strike, so as to find an opportunity to rob the nation.
“In furtherance of his gimmicks to undermine the government and people of Nigeria, he has incited members of Petroleum Tanker Drivers, to refuse/stop the lifting of products. This is part of his plans to curry their sentiments and cause them to embark on strike and also stage protests in his favour with the ulterior motive of arm-twisting the NNPC to abandon the cause of recovering stolen products,” the statement added.
DSS however, reassured Nigerians that it would cooperate with relevant agencies to ensure effective distribution of Petroleum products across the country.
It also promised to bring to book individuals or companies involved in any criminal act that would undermine the nation’s economy.
