D’Tigress coach picks 6 players for Women’s Afrobasket

Nigeria female basketball team (D’Tigress) head coach, Sam Vincent has picked 6 players in the team’s Florida, United States of America camp as they prepare for the final phase of camping in Nigeria ahead of the 2017 Women’s Afrobasket Championship in Mali.

Vincent , who is an American returned to Nigeria basketball after about a decade absence as he leads the national women’s team to the 2017 AfroBasket in Mali.

The tournament will be held from August 18 to August 27.

The players picked for the final phase of camping in Lagos are Ndidi Madu, Adaeze Alaeze, Aisha Mohammed, Ezinne Kalu, Cecelia Okoye and Ugo Nwaigwe.

The US based team will meet up with the rest of the home-based squad preparing for the championship.

The team will play three friendlies at the Indoor Sports hall of the National Stadium, Lagos before their departure for Bamako, Mali on August 16.

The D’tigress is in Group B with Mozambique, Congo, Egypt, Guinea and Senegal.
