FCT Minister urges residents to participate in ongoing voter registration

Ahead of the Area Councils election in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has called on the residents of the Federal Capital Territory to come out en-masse to participate in the on-going continuous voter registration (CRV) exercise.

The Minister explained that the 4-Day exercise which commences on Wednesday January 13, 2016 will end on Sunday January 17, 2016.

The Minister stated this at a meeting with Leaders of the All Progressives Congress and the FCT APC Women Group in the FCT in his office in Abuja.

He said that, the Continuous Voter Registration exercise in the FCT will give opportunity to residents who have attained the 18 years of age as well as those who may wish to transfer their voter cards from where they previously resided to the FCT, as their present residence.

He urged the residents to take advantage of the window provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to fully participate.

Good Governance

Malam Bello assured them that the administration of President Muhammadu Buahri will ensure good governance at all levels in the Federal Capital Territory with the support and cooperation of all stakeholders.

According to him, “the government of President Muhammad Buhari will surely showcase what good governance is in the entire 8,000 square kilometers of the Federal Capital Territory”.

He added that APC is a grassroots political party; stressing that the present FCT Administration would implement people-oriented programmes to better their lives.

He called on the APC Leaders to continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari to achieve the Party’s manifesto as it affects the Territory.

Malam Bello appealed to those who lost in the recent Area Council Primary Elections to accept the party supremacy by embracing the winners and work together to ensure victory of the Party at the forthcoming polls.

Speaking earlier, the FCT APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman who led the stakeholders to the visit, promised to work at all times to actualise the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari.

We are with you as a party, stakeholders and residents of the Federal Capital Territory,” he emphasized.

In her remarks, the FCT APC Women Leader, Mrs. Hailmary Aipoh who led the FCT, APC women gave the assurance that the women will always be there for the President and the Party.
