Former Eagles Coach Amodu Shuaibu dies at 58

Former coach of the Nigeria’s Super Eagles Amodu Shuaibu has died at the age of 58.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation, the four-time Coach of the Eagles died last night in his sleep after complaining of chest pains on Friday.

The death of Amodu comes three days after that of former Super Eagles Captain and Coach, Stephen Keshi. Below are the tweets by the NFF confirming the sad news.

Until his death, Amodu was the Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Late Amodu had coached a number of clubs in Nigeria including BCC Lions of Gboko, El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri and Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

He had also coached Orlando Pirates of South Africa.

Amodu helped qualify the Super Eagles to the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan but was sacked before the tournament .

Details of his burial are yet to be announced.
