Fedearl Road Safety Commision (FRSC FC) of Abuja has won this year’s Nationwide Super 8 tournament in Lagos to emerge as the champions of the third-tier Nigeria league.
On Saturday, FRSC defeated AS Racine of Lagos in the final, which was decided on a penalty shootout after the game ended 1-1 in regulation.
The Abuja club claimed the title by winning 3 – 2 on penalties.
Former Super Eagles star and La Liga Ambassador to Nigeria has commended the effort of the NLO for organising a superb tournament.
“We watched a very thrilling football game in final. From what I saw, the standard of the game exhibited by the teams was very high and I am quite sure the teams will be more formidable in the Nigeria National League,” Mutiu Adepoju said.
“I must commend the NLO for organising the Super 8 and I am sure everybody who graced this tournament went home satisfied with the level of football and organisation.”
