The Federal Road Safety Corps in Nigeria (FRSC), has felicitated with Muslims on the Eid-El-Fitri celebration.
In his Sallah message, the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, congratulated Muslims for successfully completing the Month of Ramadan, which was devoted to sacrifice, prayer and devotion, saying such spirit should be sustained beyond the month, for peaceful co-existence, safety and security among Nigerians.
Dr Oyeyemi said the Month of Ramadan also provided an opportunity for Muslims to show compassion to the less privileged in the society, adding that such goodness should be sustained by being considerate to other road users while using the road during the celebration and beyond.
“All drivers and passengers including the front and rear seat passengers must always belt up while riding in a moving vehicle during the celebration and beyond. Motorists must particularly endeavour to check their tyres to ensure that they are neither fake, overinflated nor underinflated”, he explained
The Corps Marshal noted that in order to ensure free flow of traffic environment during the celebration, adequate logistics provisions had been made by the FRSC, while Regular and Special Marshals as well as monitors from the National Headquarters had been adequately deployed to Field Commands during the festive period.
I appeal to all motorists to use the road with utmost care by avoiding dangerous driving, speed violation and other traffic offences such as phoning while driving and overloading”, he stated
He added that all FRSC offices, Roadside Clinics and Zebra Points would remain open to attend to the needs of the road travellers during the celebration.
