FRSC to reduce road accidents by 15% in 2016

The Federal Road Safety Commission in Nigeria says in 2016, it will focus on reducing road traffic accidents by 15 percent and fatality by 25 percent.

The Corps Marshal of FRSC,  Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi stated this while addressing journalists on the 2015 end of year activities and the 2016 Strategic Goals of the Agency in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

He said FRSC would continue to ensure safer road environment for Nigerians.

“ In 2016 we will  focus  on  improvement of fleet operations and sustenance of consultation with stakeholders, collaboration with States to improve road safety administration and improve on public education and aggressive enforcement of traffic regulations.”

He said the agency would also focus on the training of its officers and Vehicle Inspection Officers within and outside the country to ensure effective service delivery in Nigeria.

He expressed appreciation to the media, the Nigeria Police, the Nigeria Air force and the general public for collaborating with FRSC to ensure that it fulfils its mandate.
