Gombe Police promises to serve fairly

The Gombe State Police Command says it is committed to serve the public better with the ‘Change begins with me’ Campaign.’

At the launch of the Campaign in Gombe State, the Police Commissioner, Mr. Austin Iwar called on families to refrain from quarrelling in the presence of their children, to raise stable and useful children for a better future.

Assessing attitudes
”Everyone must look inward, assess his individual attitude and make positive changes their immediate families can emulate.

“We must focus on building families that uphold good virtues and definitely begin with our individual contribution. While there is little we can do about our past as a country, we can do so many things about our present situation and certainly our future. Our ability to shape the present and bequeath a decent happy future for our children largely depends on the sacrifice we make today,” Mr. Iwar said.

According to him, “the Change Begins With Me Campaign was launched at the palace of the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, because he is the custodian of the peoples’ traditions, hence the people look up to him.”

“The launch in Gombe began with a procession from the police Headquarters to the palace of the Emir, because it is a better place to drive home the message of personal individual change,’’ the Police Commissioner explained.

The Emir of Gombe, His Royal Highness, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, commended the State Police Commissioner for starting the campaign even before it was launched in Abuja.

He also commended him for embarking on the youth friendly and empowerment programmes, which has drastically changed the perception of the Police in the State.
