Attacking midfielder, Amos Gyang has said he wants a debut goal for former Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars when they take on Akwa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Pyramid City side will be the guests of the Promise Keepers in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 25 clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Gyang is one of the Giwa FC players who were freed by the league body, League Management Company (LMC) to play for the club of their choice till the end of the season after the Jos Elephants were expelled due to rules violation toward the tail end of first stanza.
Gyang said he will do his very best to ensure the former champions challenge successfully the top-flight coveted trophy.
“I have been training with Kano Pillars and actually made the trip to Uyo for the Sunday’s NPFL matchday 25 clash at Akwa United.
“Of course, I’m available for the clash and will like to announce arrival and debut with a goal as well as victory.
“I will give everything to ensure Kano Pillars succeed in the on-going top-flight as well as challenge for the title.
“We are here in Uyo on high coming from the five nil win against Abia Warriors to chance another five-star performance.
“The home side suffered defeat in their last away match at Heartland and are sure to fight hard to redeem themselves in front of teeming fans but we have a mission to further push to challenge for the summit.
“The encounter is certain going to be tough we have steeled ourselves however for whatever Akwa United will throw at us as far as we do not leave Uyo empty-handed,” said Gyang.
Pillars are fourth on the Nigerian top-flight log on 36 points five behind league leaders, Wikki Tourists.
