Hajj Commission tells private operators to comply with regulations

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, have advised licensed Hajj and Umrah operators in Nigeria to play by the rules and regulations guiding the holy trips as released by the commission.

NAHCON Chairman Mr. Abdullahi Mukhtar gave the advice during a meeting held between the commission and the leadership of the association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria, AHUON, in Abuja.

Mr. Mukhtar, urged the operators to comply strictly with the regulations governing their operational licenses to stamp out corruption and quacks from the industry.

“We are ready to accept any constructive ideas from you and criticisms from the general public so as to correct any envisaged lapses and sanitize the operations.”

In his response, AHUON, President Mr. Abdulfatai Abdulmajeed lauded the leadership of the commission for their selfless services to the cause of Allah, saying that the commission is a blessing to the Hajj industry as numerous transformations have been recorded since its establishment.

The meeting also discussed the reconciliations of 2016 Hajj, calendar of events for the tour operators, NAHCON’s routine inspections on the operators as well as the meeting with the Saudi minister of hajj coming up next month.
