Members of the Arewa Community living in Osun state have expressed confidence in the leadership style of the state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.
The group, which made the declaration against the backdrop of the recently concluded APC Ward Congress in the state, said it would support Oyetola whenever it was called upon to do so.
According to the spokesman of the group, Umar Kotonkoro, Governor Oyetola’s humility, tolerance and accommodation in leadership has endeared him to many including the Hausa community.
Kotonkoro said the governor’s detribalised stance and swift responses to security issues could not be overlooked as that was the hallmark of a good leader.
He said: “As Hausa community, we have enjoyed unprecedented business patronage from His Excellency, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola apart from swift responses to security issues that has to do with the protection of our businesses, lives and property in all parts of the state.

“As Hausas, we have no fear to live and transact businesses in any part of the state as a result of the responsible leadership of Governor Oyetola who has shown to us that it is possible for a political leader in Nigeria to completely downplay ethnicity and religion in governance and resource distribution despite the ethnic complexity of Nigeria.”
The Hausa community which came under the aegis of Sherik Hausa in the three Senatorial Districts and 69 Local Governments as well as Local Council Development Authorities of the state, said it supports Governor Oyetola for a second term in office.
Kotonkoro also, on behalf of the group, made a commitment to peaceful co-existence with their host communities in the state.
