The House of Representatives is focusing on sensitive bills aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians in line with its Legislative agenda.

The Chairman House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, AbdulRazak Namdas told Voice of Nigeria in Abuja that the 2017 Budget would be the lawmakers’ priority to ensure its speedy passage.

Smooth passage
Mr. Namdas said measures have been put in place to ensure smooth passage of the Financial Document.

“The House Committee on Appropriation is working tirelessly to ensure the passage of the appropriation act. The leadership of the House has met twice with the executive to accommodate some amendments to the national budget, the House is ever ready to pass any amendment for the benefit of the citizens,” he explained.

Commenting on the delay in the budget’s passage, the lawmaker said the House would continue to work with and support the executive to realise the change agenda.

He said the National Assembly should be commended given the time the budget was presented.

The lawmakers, who resumed on Tuesday after two weeks Easter break, adjourned the plenary to April 26, to honour Senator Isiaka Adeleke. He died few days ago.
