Kelechi Iheanacho scored his third goal in a week for Manchester City as the Citizens strolled to a 4-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Iheanacho started in place of suspended Argentine striker Sergio Aguero for the second Premier League match in a row, and in a repeat of his performance last week in the Manchester derby, he made his presence count.
He netted in the 25th minute to temporarily put City 2-0 up at the Etihad Stadium, with Raheem Sterling providing the final pass.
Moments later he turned provider for City’s third goal of the afternoon, finished off by the impressive Sterling, who was selected as the league’s best performer for August.
Iheanacho’s goal was the stuff of fantasy football, a team goal of the highest quality which thrilled Man City fans in attendance and those watching on television around the world.
A Bournemouth foray upfront broke down, and City launched a devastating counter-attack which the 19-year-old Super Eagles man finished off in clinical fashion.
Astonishingly, the goal Iheanacho scored was his tenth from just 14 shots in the Premier League – a frightening statistic.
Iheanacho has now scored three goals in all competitions for City this season.
