The Nigeria Professional Football League match between Ikorodu United and Shooting Stars on Sunday was abandoned because of crowd trouble.
The game between the relegation battled team was halted with four minutes left to play due to the hosts’ fans running onto the pitch.
Chinedu Onyelonu put the Oga Boys ahead in the 25th minute courtesy of Moses Ebiye’s assist.
And in the 89th minute, Ajani Ibrahim leveled scores for the Oluyole Warriors – a goal which infuriated the fans of the hosts who encroached the field of play.
The referee then ordered the players off the pitch and into the dressing rooms before ultimately deciding to abandon the game after speaking with representatives from both clubs.
The League Management Company is expected to give its verdict on how the game ended at the Onikan Stadium in the coming days.
