Iran carries out more missile tests

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard carried out more missile tests on Monday, which is part of the three days of military manoeuvres inspite of U.S. sanctions,

The revolutionary guard said that the tests were in preparation for military attacks by “foreign aggressors,’’ according to a Guard statement quoted by the Fars news agency.

There were no details on the missiles’ range.

The U.S. imposed new sanctions on Tehran because of recent missile tests, which Washington claimed breached the terms of a nuclear deal between the international community and Iran.

Tehran says it has not breached the Vienna deal of 2015, as none of the missiles it has tested are able to carry nuclear warheads.

It has accused Washington of behaving like an amateur.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed at this weekend’s Munich Security Conference that Iran’s military programme and missile tests were merely for its own border protection and were no threat to other countries.

He said Tehran does not need permission from foreign countries in order to exercise its legitimate rights.
