The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Jamb says over 200,000 results of candidates who sat for the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations on 27th and 28th of February have so far been released.
The Registrar, Professor Dibu Ojerinde, made this known in Abuja on while conducting the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu round the examination centres in the nation`s capital, Abuja.
Professor Ojerinde who hinted that 72,000 candidates wrote the UTME on Saturday also said that 100,000 results were released earlier on Monday.
He added that Kano State, North west has the highest number of centres and candidates so far.
Monitoring the exams in Jamb Computer Based Testing Centre, Kogo and the a privately run organisation, Cham City both in Abuja, the Minister , Adamu Adamu said students could be given more opportunities to catch up with the CBT innovation adding that the initiative could be supported with the traditional method of writing examinations which is Paper Pencil Testing.
The Minister applauded the board on the initiative and called for more ways to curb examination malpractices.
The 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations began on 27th of February 2016 and will end on the 13th of March 2016.
The Exams which is in Computer Based Testing mode is currently being written in over 540 centres in Nigeria and eight other centres across the globe.
