Kaduna State Government has prepared and presented a draft multi-year estimates of 2017-2019 budget.
The presentation was made at a town hall meeting which held in Kaduna by the State Deputy Governor, Bala Bantex along other Commissioners in the State.
He explained that just like the 2016 budget, the draft multi-year estimate budget was brought before the citizens of the state for their input so as to achieve the State development plan.
Bantex said in a bid to improve the livelihood of citizens in the State, government conducted a house hold survey to investigate the major challenges of the people and prioritise them in the budget.
“From our findings, report shows that the main challenges faced by the citizens include health, education, Agriculture and social development”, he stated.
“It is therefore the reason why we have prepared the 2017 draft budget size at about 189,876,266,878.02 with the recurrent budget at 81,621,508,961.91 while the capital budget is at 108,254,757,916.11”, he stressed.
He said capital projects captured in the 2016 budget that have not been concluded were captured in the 2017 draft budget for completion.
The summarized draft multi-year estimates of 2017 budget is pegged at 189,876,268,895.02, while that of 2018 is 230,740,081,942.05 and that of 2019 is 227,757,522,520.93 respectively.
