Kebbi Government says it will, in collaboration with Sustaining Health Outcomes in the Private Sector Plus (SHOP PLUs) and USAID, train 17 medical personnel on eradication of Diarrhea.
The collaboration was launched in Birnin Kebbi and the team leader of the collaboration, Mrs. Ayodele Iroko, said that seven rural communities have been visited as in efforts to raise awareness on eradicating the disease.
She said media awareness, jingles and campaign slogans have been on, while 1,000 affected children were treated.
She also said that the collaborative effort was aimed at eradicating diarrhea in the state and ensure safety of the children through extensive campaign.
She advised parents to ensure their children are kept away from filthy environment and supported on personal hygiene.
Earlier, the Wife of the Governor, Dr. Zainab Bagudu, commended the collaborative effort and selection of the state for the campaign and she assured the organizers of a hitch-free exercise in the state.
The Commissioner of Health, Mr. Umar Kambaza, said that the joint fund for the project would be utilized judiciously for the disease to be eradicated.
He said health providers have been empowered to increase quality and access to maternal child health services and health care delivery by the private sectors in the past three years.
