The chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) Shehu Dikko has stated that the recent partnership signed between the LMC and the Spanish Laliga will start yielding results in different aspects of the game.
Speaking on a breakfast show with a local TV station, Dikko stated that as part of the partnership, the Laliga foundation is set to assist Elkanemi Warriors Football Club and the people of Maiduguri in general.
“Laliga foundation has plans to assist El-Kanemi and the people of Maidugrui as part of the partnership” he said.
Dikko also said the partnership will give Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) Managers the chance to learn on management structure.
He further stated that “The Spanish La Liga partnership will offer us opportunities on how to develop our digital platforms. The partnership will give #NPFL club managers chance to learn on club management structure.”
The LMC chairman also stated that a Laliga Club will be in Nigeria to play in July.
Commenting on the league game between El-kanemi Warriors and Kano Pillars which was played at the El-kanemi stadium in Maiduguri, Dikko expressed his delight at the turnout of fans.
“Football is a unifying factor in the country. We are excited that #NPFL football has returned to Maiduguri. It was good to see we had 22,800 fans at the Maiduguri stadium yesterday to watch the El-Kanemi vs Kano Pillars #NPFL“
The match between El-Kanemi and Kano Pillars ended 2-0 with goals from Ibrahim Mustapha and Husseini Mohammed.
