Nigeria Premier League side, Giwa FC has been banished from the Nigeria Premier League for the 2015/16 football season after failing to honour three games.
The League Management Company (LMC), organisers of the Nigeria Premier League made the announcement on Friday, saying Giwa FC did not honour the ties against Wikki Tourists, Akwa United and Enyimba.
They are also to pay a fine of N10m to the LMC for failing to honour the game against Enyimba. And also a fine of N250k as expenses for stadium hire, security and other logistics incurred for the same match.
The LMC said Giwa FC have 48 hours to appeal the ban.
The club, owned by businessman Chris Giwa has been involved in a power struggle with the Nigerian Football Federation after declaring himself it’s elected president.
It would be recalled that Giwa FC were fined N2m among other charges for fans trouble in their match against Enugu Rangers in Jos on April 17.
