The wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari has extended her sympathy to the government and people of Kano State, over the demise of Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule, describing him as an epitome of humility.
“I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kano state and his family in particular over this sad loss. I received with shock, but total submission to the will of Allah, the death of Alhaji Dr. Yusuf Maitama Sule, Danmasanin Kano, a leading light of Nigeria,” she said.
The Wife of the President, who extolled the good qualities of the elder statesman, said he died at a time when Nigeria needed him most.
According to her, “He was an epitome of humility, moderation, tolerance, patriotism and love. He passed at a time when Nigeria is in need of his counsel. Danmasani has availed himself at all times for national causes of cohesion, peace and stability.”
She said he will be long remembered for his stabilizing role as an elder and a national example, whose life is worthy of commendation and emulation.
Mrs Buhari prayed Allah to grant him Aljannatul firdaus and the family the fortitude to bear this loss.
