Nigeria's Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed on Change Begins With Me Campaign.

The ‘Change Begins With Me Campaign’ of the Nigerian government is set to be taken to all the states across the country to connect directly to the populace at the state and local levels.

The campaign has the capacity to change the breakdown in time tested values, preference for imported goods, poor attitude to work, corruption among others.

Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed said this in Abuja on Wednesday, when he formally presented the campaign to the Nigeria Governors Forum.

Mr Mohammed sought the Governors support to drive the campaign at the state and local government levels.

Achieving attitudinal change
“The campaign is aimed at achieving a paradigm shift in the way we do things. It is geared towards achieving an attitudinal change.

“As they say, you cannot continue to do things the same way and expect a different result. With the total breakdown of our core values in the past years, it is imperative that we re-orientate ourselves with a view to restoring those time-tested values.

It is important to note that this is a national campaign. It has no political, religious or ethnic coloration,” the Minister stated.

Campaign broadcast
Mr Mohammed also solicited for the Governors’ support in the dissemination of the campaign messages.

“We want you to grant us generous airtime on your state radio and television stations for the regular broadcast of the radio and television jingles. We are of the strong belief that your cooperation is absolutely important if the campaign is to succeed,” he added.
