Modibbo University, Army hold peace building conference

The Centre for Peace and Security Studies at the Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa State, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army is to hold a regional conference on peace building and reconstruction in the Chad Basin.

Speaking at a Pre-Convocation Press Briefing in Yola, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Kyari Mohammed, said the institution would bring resource persons from the Cameron, Chad, Niger and Nigeria, to bring succour to the people.

The VC noted that “as an institution in one of the affected states coupled with the our expertise in the field of peace building and conflict management, we have decided to bring succour to our people”

Prof. Kyari said the regional approach was deliberate, ” the regional approach  is deliberate as we Connor effectively build peace, rebuild social cohesion and foster international cooperation without the active participation of Nigeria’s neighbours”.

Professor Kyari also announced that a total of 4534 students will be awarded certificates in first, second and third degrees during the 21st and 22nd convocation ceremony.
