House of Representatives has mandated its Committee on Pensions to investigate the allegations of the non – remittance of contributions by organisations to Pension Fund Administrators, PFAs.
The committee will among others obtain a comprehensive report on the operations of the scheme, including a list of defaulting employers and the amount involved.
The resolution of the House was a result to a motion entitled “threat to the continuation of the contributory pensions scheme by non – remittance of workers contribution.
The House said the act breached the Pension Act 2004.
It described the non-remittance by organisations as not only jeopardising the smooth and successful operation of the scheme but leads to the suffering of Pensioners.
