New CAR President nominates Prime Minister

Three days after Faustin Archange Touadera was sworn in as the new president of Central African Republic, he nominated Simplice Sarandji as the new prime minister.

Touadera defeated his opponent Anicet Georges Dologuele in the second tour of the presidential election which was held on Feb. 14 this year, gaining 62.69 percent of the votes.

61 years old Sarandji was working as the chief of staff for Touradera when he was prime minister from 2008-2013 under the rule of Francois Bozize who was overthrown by rebel Seleka coalition in March, 2013.

Sarandji  is expected to form his government in a few days.
