Editors urge government to develop proactive security strategies

The Nigerian Guild of Editors ,NGE, has urged the federal government to develop proactive security strategies for the country.

This was stated after the NGE held its 4th quarterly standing committee meeting in Yola, Adamawa state.

It was pointed out that attracting foreign direct investments was a critical factor in reflating the nation’s economy and that such strategies were necessary to boost such investments.

It is equally desirable for the government to evolve the anti-kidnapping measures.

The guild commended the efforts of some state governments in setting up some special squads with proven records of trailing, tracking and arresting kidnappers, thereby, urging other states to take a cue from these success stories.

The NGE further says it will serve the government well to do the needful so as to ease  pressure on the citizens.

The guild appreciated the government and the people of Adamawa state for hosting its fourth quarterly meeting.
