The much awaited international friendly match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the National Team of Luxembourg has been brought forward to May 31, 2016.
A letter from the Luxembourg Football Association to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) explained that the match, earlier scheduled for 1st June, had to be moved forward by a day as a result of Luxembourg‘s involvement in Tour de France cycling competition.
According to NFF’s official website, the change in date won’t affect the Super Eagles program as the needed adjustment has already been made.
Super Eagles coordinator, Enebi Achor disclosed that the match would now be played on May 31 at the Josy Barthel Stadium in the capital of Luxembourg. Achor also allayed fears over the visa hitches, confirming that a hand full of the technical and administrative officials of the NFF have been issued Schengen visas to enter France and Luxembourg for the two matches.
“The change in date will not in any way affect our program. The entire contingent will move to Luxembourg from Rouen in France, where we will play Mali on 27th May’’.
