Nigerian Army clears escaping boko haram terrorists from Sambisa forest

Troops of 21 Brigade Bama, under 7 Division area of operational responsibility, in a blocking position, have cleared escaping Boko Haram terrorists that came through Sabsawa axis of Sambisa forest.

This is contained in a press statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman.

IMG-20160304-WA0005Colonel Usman said the troops recovered a Toyota Hilux, 2 AK-47 rifles with registration numbers 58006915 and KO 35839, as well as 37 rounds of 12.7mm metal linked ammunition.

Alagarno Forest

In a related development, troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion of 25 Task Force Brigade, 7 Division Nigerian Army,   demystified boko haram terrorist’s spiritual power base at the Alagarno forest, Borno State.

“The troops based on tip off, conducted a clearance operation around Alagarno forest general area, destroying terrorists camps at Mosa, Ariwuzumari and Kagalmari, as well as Missene, Joba, Yajiwa and Sansan.

IMG-20160303-WA0004During the operations, the troops were able to clear all the camps, killing quite a number of terrorists and recovered Boko Haram terrorists flags hoisted on some premises, destroyed their logistics base and recovered 31 motorcycles, assorted foodstuffs, a donkey and a pick up van, AK-45 rifle with registration number 17714 and a Dane gun.
