Nigeria’s Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, and his officers for handling Monday’s protests in Nigeria with professionalism and respect for the rights of citizens.
“We are committed to a continuous engagement with our people to explain government policies, receive advice and criticism,” Osinbajo stated.
He said cabinet ministers have gone round eight states so far, holding town hall meetings, the most recent was on Monday in Ilorin, Kwara State, North Central Nigeria.
He noted that there would be more of such meetings in the other states that are yet to be visited.
He expressed hope that the recession in Nigeria would soon be history with the administration’s complete focus on improving the economy every day.
