Nigeria’s public awareness agency, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), has called on citizens to embrace Made-in-Nigeria products, to help the economic development of the nation.

Kano State Director of the agency, Mohammed Bashir Ali, said all existing structures of the organisation will be used to embark on the sensitisation campaign on the patronage of the made in Nigeria goods.

He said it is high time Nigerians come to terms with the present economic realities and change their taste for foreign products.

“NOA Kano will use its robust structure, down to the lowest strata of the society, its mobilization strength and committed staff to carry out this patriotic duty of sensitizing Nigerians to embrace Nigerian goods, to every nook and cranny of the country”. Stressed the NOA State Director

He explained that Nigeria has abundant natural resources to be self reliant and even export to other countries of the world.

The climatic condition of the nation gave it a comparative advantage in the production of cotton and other products, but Nigerians still have insatiable appetite for foreign goods.” lamented Ali

He said the campaign against corruption should also be embraced by all as it is not for one-man but to the benefit of all, noting that the era of free lunch is over, hence Nigerians must be reoriented, so as to accept the patronage of local products to help grow our economy.

Ali emphasised that as a hard working people, Nigerians have no business being corrupt to eke a living, describing the campaign as a welcome development to reawake the consciousness of Nigerians, instill patriotism that will restore the nation on the path of industrialization.

“We must take ownership of fight against corruption as a way to help defeat the scourge that has eaten deep into our national fabric.

He reiterated that the campaign will help galvanize support for the patronage of locally produced goods to enhance export and increase earnings for the growth of the country.
