Nigeria Premier League club, Akwa United have relieved Maurice Cooreman of his duties as Technical Adviser of the Promise Keepers.

According to the media officer of the club, Uwem Ekoh, Cooreman was sacked following a poor disciplinary record throughout last season.

Also disengaged from his duties at the club is the Chief Coach of the club, Ere Dokubo.

According to a release from the club, the Akwa United management revealed that the coaches’ dismissal was as a result of a major reorganization in the coaching crew.

They have been directed to hand over all club’s properties in their possessions to the Team Manager.

Cooreman helped Akwa United to a 14th place finish in the just concluded season.

In a similar development, Sunshine Stars have severed ties with veteran coach Solomon Ogbeide and have appointed Kayode Olujohungbe as their new head coach.

The news of Ogbeide’s departure from the club came as a rude shock to close followers of the Nigeria Professional Football League following his relative success with the Owena Waves last season.

Ogbeide’s arrival at the Akure-based club in the first few months of the campaign culminated in an upturn in fortunes following a poor start to the campaign.

The side eventually finished in sixth position at the end of the campaign.
