NPFL: Enugu Rangers sets up pre-season matches

Rangers International FC says it has lined-up 10 pre-season friendly matches to build an ideal team ahead of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional League Season (NPFL).

The club’s Media Officer, Foster Chime, made the disclosure in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu.

The statement said that the team had continued its impressive wins in the buildup matches so far played in Benin City.

It said the team defeated B.J. Foundation FC 6-2 as well as thrashed Dynamite FC 1-0 at the weekend.

“The goals against B.J. Foundation came from Togolese international, Tokaba Kunle, Godwin Aguda, Chisom Egbuchulam, Bobby Clement and Christian Madu.

“The B.J. two goals came through a penalty and a free kick in the dying minutes of the game.

“In the second match against Dynamite of Benin, Rangers got the only goal of the match from the boot of Ifeanyi Egwim in the 31st minute,’’ it added.

The statement said the team’s Technical Adviser, Imama Amapakabo, was satisfied with the brilliance of the players in the two matches.

It said the players showed sound technical grapples in the two friendly matches and lived up to expectations as both the new and old players proved their worth.

“The Togolese international displayed exceptional performances by blending perfectly with old players,’’ the statement said.

However, it said that corrections would be made on observed lapses from the two friendly games to reflect in subsequent matches.
