Kano state Governor in Northern Nigeria, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje has dissolved the management board of Nigeria Premier League Club, Kano Pillars

Governor Ganduje announced the dissolution of the Kano Pillars board while meeting with the Kano Pillars basketball team billed to leave Nigeria for Togo to take part in the FIBA-Africa Zone Three Basketball Championship that starts this Friday.

It would be recalled that Kano Pillars is being financed by the Kano State government.

Ganduje explained that he had to sack the board following in-fighting among its members.

“I am not happy with what happened in the outgoing board in which the members were fighting for their own interests instead of putting heads together to move the club forward,” Governor Ganduje said.

The Kano State sports commission chairman, Ibrahim Galadima, has been directed by the governor to draw up recommendations on a new structure to put in place a new board for Kano Pillars.

The new recommendations for Kano Pillars will also cover plans to hire a new head coach for the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season after Mohammed Baba Ganaru left at the end of the campaign this year.

Kano Pillars finished in seventh place with 52 points, 11 behind the champions Enugu Rangers.
