NPFL: Rangers, Rivers win in rescheduled games

Champions Enugu Rangers bounced back from their defeat to Sunshine as they piped leaders Plateau United 1-0 in a Nigeria Professional Football League match day 14 rescheduled game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday.

Rangers’ goal was scored by Daniel Etor in the 22nd minute of the game.

The win was Rangers’ sixth this season, while Plateau United have now lost four league games but remain on top.

Rangers move to 15th in the NPFL league table on 22 points but with a game in hand.

In another rescheduled match day 18 NPFL game also on Wednesday, Rivers United edged Remo Stars 1-0 at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.

Bernard Ovoke’s 41st minute goal was enough to secure the win for Rivers United who picked up their sixth win of the campaign.

With the win, Rivers United moved up from 17th to 13th on the log on 24 points.

Remo remain bottom of the league on 19 points after 19 games.
