Activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange market have further declined after the close of Thursday’s trading.
The decline is reflected on the All Share Index and the Market Capitalisation as both fell by 1.64 per cent.
The market capitalisation closed at 11,387 trillion Naira as against Wednesday’s closing of 11,577 trillion Naira, declining by 190 billion Naira.
In the same vein, the All Share Index closed today at 32,928.44 basis points as against Wednesday’s closing of 33,477.89 basis points, declining by 549.45 basis points.
This major decline also shows in the number of appreciating and declining stocks. Only 14 stocks appreciated at the close of today’s trading, while 45 stocks depreciated.
The top three gainers are;
CONOIL PLC appreciated by N4.14 or 10.24 per cent to close at N44.56 per share compared to Wednesday’s closing price of N40.42 per share.
ASHAKA CEM PLC appreciated by N1.50 or 10.16 per cent to close today at N16.27 compared to previous closing price of N14.77 per share.
BERGER PAINTS PLC appreciated by 0.65 kobo or 10.05 per cent to close at N6.47 compared to previous closing price of N7.12 per share.
MAY & BAKER NIGERIA PLC led the losers’ pack by –0.53 kobo or -9.62 per cent when it closed at N4.98 per share as against previous closing price of per share.
TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATION OF NIGERIA PLC followed with a decline of 0.16 kobo or 9.52 per cent when it closed at N1.52 per share as against previous closing price of N1.68 per share.
WEMA BANK PLC fell by 0.06 kobo or 8.96 per cent to close at 0.61 kobo per share as against previous closing price of 0.67 kobo per share.
A total of 5.1 million shares worth 5.03 billion Naira were traded in 5,321 deals.
