After the close of trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday, a total of 2.9 million shares worth 3.9 billion Naira were traded in 3,712 deals.
The all share index which opened at 34,020.37 basis points, closed at 34,652.52 basis points while the market capitalisation which opened at N11,725 trillion, closed at 11,943 trillion Naira.
The market grew by 1.86 per cent as the All Share Index appreciated by 632.15 basis points while the market capitalisation grew by 218 billion Naira.
Access Bank Plc, United Bank for Nigeria Plc and Guaranty trust Bank Plc were the three top trades for the day by volume, that is, the number of shares traded and not by percentage gain.
Access Bank Plc led the trades with 73.56 million shares valued at 730.18 million Naira, United Bank for Africa Plc followed, selling 34.61 million shares valued at 323.28 million Naira, while Guaranty Trust Bank Plc exchanged 32.56 million shares worth 1.2 billion Naira.
Dangote Cement Plc topped the gainers table by volume when it closed at N222.6 per share as against previous closing price of N212 per share, gaining N10.6.
Julius Berger Nig. Plc was next with a N1.7 gain, when it closed at N36 per share when compared to previous closing price of N34.3 per share.
Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc followed with N1.01 gain to close at N33.5 per share, as against previous closing price of N32.49 per share.
On the losers table, Nestle Nigeria Plc led with a N16 fall, closing at N902 per share compared to previous closing of N918 per share.
P Z Cussons Nigeria Plc which had an opening price of N22 per share, closed at N21.4 per share, losing 6 kobo.
Then Okomu Oil Palm Plc which opened today at N64.5 per share closed at N64 per share, depreciating by 5 kobo.
