The Oyo State government has promised to pay workers four months’ salary arrears.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi urged all workers to key into the state government’s reform agenda, as they continue to put in their very best in all they do.

The promise came after Workers all over the world celebrated May Day on Monday.

Governor Ajimobi congratulated the entire workforce in Oyo, urging them “to see this year’s May Day celebration as another opportunity to take stock and access their performance.’’

The Governor who said workers in Oyo State were among the best, said  the State government was exploring many opportunities to enhance its internally generated revenue.

Skills acquisition
Caretaker chairman of Itesiwaju Local Government of Oyo State, Mr. Niyi Adeagbo supported the governor by calling upon the youth to see skills acquisition as alternative paid employment for self development and financial freedom.

“To be candid, the number of graduates turned out every year from universities, polytechnics and colleges is more than what the governments at all levels and the labour market can absorb. Therefore, there will be no solution to unemployment unless our youths embark on entrepreneurship.

“Our youths are strongly advised to acquire and develop skills to become producers and job creators,’’ Adeagbo stated.
